Admissions Process
Complete the online application form in English, including the applicant’s educational and personal backgrounds and attach the required supporting documents. Please note that we cannot begin processing an application until all the required documents have been received through the online application program.
After the application is completed, an application fee of KRW 250,000 will be due. If applicants wish to re-apply for following year an additional application fee of KRW 250,000 will be required. All application fees are non-refundable. Once all the documents are submitted and payment is finalized, all applicants will be notified of a confirmed assessment date and time. All in country applicants must take an admissions assessment on campus, students who live abroad will have the opportunity to take the admissions assessment online.

- After a careful assessment of each applicant’s qualifications, an applicant’s family will be notified regarding the final admission result. Our admissions office is unable to provide specific information as to why this particular decision was made.
ACCEPTANCE
If your child is accepted, you will receive a formal letter of acceptance, along with a tuition invoice. Tuition and other fees must be paid by the designated due date. Failure to meet the payment deadline will result in forfeiting an applicant’s enrollment offer.
WAIT LIST
There are limited spaces available each year. Korean nationals may not be eligible for immediate enrollment due to restrictions placed on DIS by the Daegu Department of Education. The top 15% of total applicants based on the results of the admissions assessment will be selected as candidates for admission. If there is a vacancy during the school year, we will contact the parents regarding admission. Please note that applicants on the waiting list DO NOT carry over to the following school year.
NO-OFFER
Although most applicants are extremely qualified for acceptance, due to the limited number of openings throughout the school year, DIS is not able to place all candidates on the waitlist. Students may be denied admission based on following factors: academic and/or behavioral record and/or their English language proficiency do not meet the academic or behavior requirements for the grade to which they are applying. No-offered applicants may re-apply for the following admissions year.
Application Categories
1. Non-Korean Citizens
DIS accepts non-Korean citizens on a rolling basis. Please submit a copy of the current Alien Registration Card and both parents’ passports with the completed online application. Dual citizenship holders who have Korean nationality are counted as Korean students at DIS according to the ‘Nationality Law’.
2. Korean Citizens
DIS hosts an admissions window for Korean national applicants once a year in the spring. DIS accepts Korean students when there are vacancies. The upcoming admissions window timeline will be found on the bottom of the page:
3. Additional 10% Korean
Under the agreement with the Daegu City Hall and the Daegu Department of Education, DIS can accept an additional 10% (Korean students) of our school’s total capacity. Please refer to the table below for the qualification or contact Daegu City Hall (053-803-4414).
