Online Application

Online Application We welcome new students to join our tiger family throughout the school year. To be eligible for enrollment; however, they must meet at least one of the following requirements. - Dependent children of expatriates legally residing in Korea

Applications for admission to Gyeongnam International Foreign School are accepted at any time during the academic year that typically runs from late August to mid-June. Admission is open to students of all nationalities in PreKindergarten through 12th Grade.

Application for admission at all levels requires the completion of the registration form. Applications are made through the GIFS business office. An online application is preferred for initial application.


Tuition & fees

One-time Fees

- New Student Enrollment Fees

● Registration Fee: KRW 500,000

● Capital Fee: KRW 3,000,000

● **ISB & AIS: Transfers from ISB or AIS (at any time of the year) will not be charged the new student enrollment fees.

 

Annual Fees

● Curriculum and Development Fee: KRW 2,900,000

● Tuition Fees (based on student’s grade of entry – see below)

Admission Policy

 

Elementary – PYP (PreKindergarten – Grade 5)

All prospective students must complete the online application process and may be required to interview with a member of the school administration or admissions staff. Students who are not native English speakers must take the WIDA exam to determine their language proficiency and need for support.

 

Secondary – MYP (Grade 6 – 10)

All prospective students must complete the online application process and may be required to interview with a member of the school administration or admissions staff. Students who are not native English speakers must take the WIDA exam to determine their language proficiency and need for support.

 

Secondary – DP (Grade 11 – 12)

All prospective entrants must have an interview with the IB Coordinator. An English language test is mandatory where a student does not have English as a first language to be conducted by the ELL Coordinator. The minimum standard is a pass in the Cambridge FCE exam, or equivalent.Entrance to Grade 11, to begin IBDP studies, requires a minimum of five passes in (I)GCSE with C grade or better, or in the case of a student entering from another system, evidence that they have reached a standard of academic achievement such that they are likely to succeed in the IB program. The student must select option subjects from our course list.

 

Entry may be given after January providing it is clearly understood that the student may have to start Grade 11 again the following year if inadequate progress makes this necessary.

 

For students unable to meet our IBDP entry requirements an alternative course may be offered.
